Dipped Varistors for Surge and Transient Voltage Protection

Dipped metal oxide varistors are used to protect semiconductor devices and electronic circuits from transient overvoltage.
Their nonlinear voltage-current characteristics enable rapid clamping of surge energy, limiting peak voltage seen by sensitive components.
Multiple disc sizes support different energy handling requirements in consumer, industrial, and communication equipment.

Electrical Characteristics

Varistors exhibit high impedance under normal operating voltage and transition to low impedance during surge events.
This behavior allows them to absorb transient energy and suppress voltage spikes.
Varistor voltage options from 18 V to 1800 V support both low-voltage and mains-connected applications.
